The tour covers land transport, lodging, sea kayak and gear, and three meals per day, travel insurance, and the services of an expert local tourist guide.

Day 1

Departure at noon from San José, traveling over high mountains and through extensive plains for dinner and comfortable overnight stay at La Palma harbor.

Day 2

After breakfast, a 4X4 vehicle takes visitors to the Gold Mountain Hostel. Previously used by miners, it now allows tourists to in the midst of the wilderness. Accommodations here are pleasantly rustic; candles and lanterns are used at night, meals are prepared on a wood stove, and rooms have shared baths.

We go on an afternoon hike following lunch, touring the Corcovado National Park, returning at twilight for a hearty supper and overnight stay at the hostel.

Day 3

After breakfast, we ride a 4x4 to Playa Blanca (White Beach) for lunch, and then a three-hour journey by sea kayak on the calm ocean waters of Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf). On shore, visitors can swim and watch the sunset. Supper and overnight lodging will be at nearby White Beach Cabins, with private baths and air-conditioned rooms.

Day 4

We make an early return trip to San José, passing through mountainous areas and lovely rolling countryside.
