

Minimum group size: ten individuals.
This tour includes land transport, lodging, boat and sea kayak, bicycle, three complete meals daily, travel insurance, and an expert local tourist guide.
SCHEDULE
Day 1
Arrival at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in Costa Rica. Tourists will be transported to a San José hotel for an overnight stay (dinner not included in the package).
Day 2
We depart from San José to arrive in time for an afternoon guided boat tour of Costa Rica’s largest mangrove reserve. We then go to Sierpe, a small, quaint town; visitors will have dinner here and spend the night in comfortable cabins.
Day 3
After an early breakfast, the first 45 kilometer leg of our biking adventure begins after crossing to the other side of the Sierpe River by boat. We then take the trail for a moderate climb surrounded by nature, arriving at Miramar Heights to begin a slight descent, passing on the way through San Juan and Sábalo.
The group stops for a snack break at Pailón, and then continues through lush countryside, crossing rivers to La Florida and El Colombiano, for a second rest and snack period. The group continues to the Guerra Tidelands over pleasant dirt and stone roads, arriving at El Progreso. Dinner and lodging will be at the Corcovado Cabins at Drake Bay.
Day 4
The adventure continues after breakfast, journeying over dirt and stone road with a pleasantly steep climb and descent. The rest of the terrain is nearly flat, passing through picturesque villages such as Rancho Quemado and El Riyito. Following a rest stop for snacks in La Palma, we then proceed on to La Amapola, Agujas, and Sándalo, to end up after a total of 45 kilometers at the Rio Nuevo Lodge, for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 5
Traveling along paths through lush jungle, visitors truly feel surrounded by nature. After a trail climb with switchbacks, on the way down, the group passes through part of the Oro riverbed. After a break for snacks, we continue along a dirt and stone road, crossing rivers to reach Carate Beach. Five kilometers ahead the group arrives at the pleasant La Leona Lodge for dinner and our overnight stay. Total distance covered since daybreak: 40 kilometers.
Day 6
Today’s tour begins with a jaunt over to Puerto Jiménez harbor along a dirt and stone road that crosses a number of rivers and ascends before arriving at Matapalo Beach, famed for its world-class surfing; the group has a snack there before moving on to discover other impressive beaches. Late in the afternoon, after covering 40 kilometers, we are back in the peaceful harbor town for dinner and lodging at the Bosque Mar Cabins.
Day 7
With favorable tides, the group boards by sea kayaks to tour the mangroves along the Platanares River, and stops to swim in the gentle, warm waters of the Golfo Dulce. We have lunch there, and then head back to San José for dinner and lodging.
Day 8
A short visit to downtown San José can be arranged, according to the departure time of the international flight.
